Silke Beck

Silke Beck (political scientist/ sociologist by training) is senior research scientist at the Department Environmental Politics and speaker of the Working Group “Climate Change/ Energy Change” and “Science policy.” Her main area of expertise are science policy interfaces and policy integration the field of biodiversity and climate change (e.g. TEEB, IPBES, BMBF-Project „NESNET – Nested Networks”).
Silke Beck’s work for BASE includes mainly the review of the state of policy integration (at the European, national and local level) and the demand for and use of information for decision-making on adaptation. She is interested in how to improve the coherence of adaptation policies by use of information and assessment tools.
