Baltadapt is a flagship project under the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and has been awarded the Baltic21 Lighthouse Project quality label by the CBSS Expert Group on Sustainable Development. It seeks to fulfill a dual purpose of (1) improving the knowledge base and brokerage process between political decision makers and researchers leading to improved institutional capacity; and (2) establishing an action plan to provide the operational basis for implementing the BSR-wide Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and influencing policies, programmes and regulations.

Keynote speeches will be delivered by André Jol, Head of Group Vulnerability and Adaptation, European Environment Agency, and Erik Kjellström of the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute.

The event will be hosted by the University of Latvia.
